GUIDELINES FOR ORAL PREPARATION

Guidelines for Oral Presentation Finalists

  • The oral presentation will take place on Friday, 03 March 2023 at 2 PM in Padang Room, Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore.
  • The authors of the abstracts qualified for oral presentation will be notified via email and are required to confirm participation within 1 week from notification. Failure to confirm may result in disqualification, forfeiture, or withdrawal of any award, at the organiser’s sole discretion.
  • All presenters need to register for a 2-day F2F pass to the Conference and attend the Conference dinner on 03 March 2023.
  • Instruction for onsite speaker registration will be sent via email on a later date.
  • Oral presenters must prepare an e-poster using PowerPoint in landscape layout (16:9) and save it as a PDF file. This will be posted on the SPCC website.
  • All oral presentations must be in English. You are to use the slide template for preparing your presentation. The slide template and instructions for slide submission will be sent via email.
  • The oral presentation should include the following:
    • Introduction/rationale for conduct of study
    • Methods
    • Results (Tables and figures should be concise and appropriately labelled)
    • Discussion in relation to its translational potential in primary care and family practices
    • Summary of key findings in the conclusion
    • Acknowledgement and declaration of sponsorship, if relevant
    • References are optional: restrict to only key references
  • Timing for each oral presentation (10 min)
    • Introduction of presenter and presentation by session chairperson
    • Presentation (7 min)
    • Question and answers (3 min)
  • If you exceed the permitted timing, the session chairperson will be obliged to terminate the presentation. A penalty of 20 points will be subtracted from your score immediately if the timing is exceeded.
  • All oral presentations will be judged and compete for the Conference Awards.
  • Decision by the panel of jurors on the awards will be final.
  • The session chairperson will be responsible for the scheduling of the presentations, which may be altered in the event of exigency, such as unexpected withdrawal of presenters. Awardees will be informed of the prizes by email/SMS, so that they can collect the prizes at the award ceremony.
