Dr Joanne Ngeow is a Senior Consultant, Division of Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, where she heads the Cancer Genetics Service with an academic clinical interest in hereditary cancer syndromes, translational clinical cancer genetics and population genomics. Dr Ngeow is also an Associate Professor (Genomic Medicine) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University Singapore.

Dr Ngeow is funded by the National Medical Research Council Clinician Scientist Award and Ministry of Health to explore how gene-environmental interactions predispose individuals to cancer initiation. Her team publishes extensively on novel clinical innovations to aid the equitable implementation of genomics into routine oncologic and primary care in Asia. Dr Ngeow is one of the Principal Investigators of the Health for Life in Singapore Study (HELIOS), a state-of-the-art multi-ethnic population cohort study funded to understand chronic disease prevention.

Dr Ngeow championed and helped establish career tracks for genetic counsellors in Singapore, establishing genetic counsellor-led cancer risk assessment clinics for cancer genetics. She is passionate about physician education and patient advocacy and has started support groups for Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer syndrome, Lynch syndrome, FAP and other genetic conditions in Singapore.
